Painting The Plaguebearers of Nurgle

I've got some basic paint on these guys. As you can see I'm terrible but you know what they about practise. I tried a bicarb and PVA technique to create pussy areas. They need plenty of shading added but I'll get to that. I'm focusing on trying to get their moss covered cloaks done and it's so hideous. The worst idea EVER, truly! It does not stick and takes ages to dry. It better pay off in the end.

We caved and bought Warhammer Quest Silver Tower & the four extra heros so expect some of that soon.

Where've You Been?

Yeah I know it's been a long time since I have posted anything. Life gets in the way of hobbies! I have treats-

I won a cheap Lord of Plagues model on ebay and decided he needed a makeover. I love this model so I didn't want to change things too much and the guy who had built him did a real good job of gluing him together. I couldn't remove him from his square base without damaging his feet so I constructed him this slightly raised base. I used some roots I had collected to give it some texture by pressing them into the Green Stuff as it dried. His sword is from an ogre, I wanted his plague sword to be so strong it even affected him slightly. His hand is larger then the other and I hope to bring this out in the painting. I liked the idea that he was decaying so much he had to hold his guts in so his other hand is grasping various entrails. Bells instead of a skull at his belt so it's more fitting with The Herald. I used a Sylvaneth Treelord face as a mask for a bit of coherence with my Plaguebearers. I know it's rough at this point but I'm looking forward to painting him.

The Forest of Nurgle -

I sculpted some mushroom like, tentacle waving creatures to be my Nurglings. As much as I like GW's models I wanted something more woodys(Not a real word.). I researched carnivorous and parasitic types of plants. I like to imagine that once they have ensnared their prey they use little sharp teeth under the caps to chow down.

Shopping Spree... again!

Smile! I got some Ogre heads to add to my Giant, because one head is just not good enough for a servant of Nurgle.

Age of Sigmar - Orruks

Miniwars: The Orruks Ironjaws
How 40K are the new Orruk models? Lovely models but way to space aged for my liking. I would totally use them if I played 40K. Thoughts?

Forest of Nurgle - Fuelling My Tea and Coffee Habits

I made the most of the good weather on Tuesday by making some bases for my Plaguebearers and setting up my high tech spray paint station (cardboard box) in the garden. I use coffee grounds and two types of tea for these bases. Super simple, nothing fancy.

The end results. I decided to spray the bases a different colour to the models. I don't know if that was a good idea or not. I'll let you know once they're all painted up.

Shopping Spree

As you can see there is a lot of love between me and the boyfriend when it comes to Warhammer. The 'he' that is referred to is my giant. I've always wanted this model and finally have an excuse to use it. I also got a Reaper mini to be my Herald of Nurgle, Sisters of the Thorn for Pox Riders and some Army Painter Bone colour to base them all.
